How many koi can I enter in my 1000 gallon pond?
I have a pond about 1000 gallons, I currently have 8 koi there with (a 5inch two 9inch, two 13-inch and three 20-22inch each). The koi seem happy / healthy and are swimming / feeding well. I wonder if I have the space for editions 1 or 2 maybe?
Filtration will be the most important factor in determining the number of Koi you can have. It is more important than the number of gallons. Many store bought filters will tell you they can filter 1000 or 2000 gallon ponds ponds gallon. These assessments are not usually accurate. They base this on the assumption you have very few fish, usually only two or three goldfish. Just because you have a pond 1000 gallons and you have bought a filter for 1000 gallons does not mean you can put 20 Koi there and wait for water quality high. In general, reduce the number of gallons the filter says it can filter in half, and even then, maintain the low density of livestock. But you can have 20 Koi in 1000 gallons If the filter is large enough to handle waste products ... both solid and ammonia. The key to whether you are busiest water analysis. If you have ammonia, that simply will not go away, or waste and debris in the water, then you have more stock for the size of the filter. To correct this you must either reduce the supply, reduce the number of fish or increase the size of the filter.

You can also enable higher solar panel on your south-southwest of the light or increase its exposure to the sun. Many lights will run about 12-15 hours with 8 hours of direct sunlight.
When you place your lights, consider any possible shading that might result from nearby trees, bushes, buildings, etc. Lights in the shade will put less light at night.

Your situation area may affect the way light and the duration of your solar lights run, since the sites receive fewer hours of sunshine than others. The time of year can also make a difference for the same reason.

Do frogs hibernate when the pond dries up in summer?
I live in California South and in January, after a heavy rain, you could hear hundreds of frogs in this pond in a field behind my building. Each night we could hear the frog's foot. Now that the weather has warmed up and, I suppose, the pond was almost dry, you can not hear the frogs more. Where have all the frogs go? It's not global warming. They were not there in August when we moved They just came out in in January when the rain came and now they are gone again. I imagine they will be back the next rainy season. Do frogs hibernate during the dry season?
No, they hibernate do they move on to find more water ... when you hear them croaking that is the wish mating, when the water level is at its highest eggs so they can was there, they hatch After 3-4 weeks, they emerge into frogs 6 weeks ... hope this helps!
