Will melting plants do well in sunlight in the afternoon?
If I have a row of cast iron plant in an area that receives morning shade, but plenty of sunshine in the afternoon unfiltered will they be OK?
They are a plant of relatively small and light as moisture. You should be very careful. It is really considered as a shade plant. Cast iron plant common name came from its ability to survive despite the adverse conditions of growth. Just wait and See and be prepared to move them or create some shade for them. Koi Pond & Waterfall: Top 21 Most Questions Answers
Q What is the ideal depth for a koi pond?
A In my experience more than 25 years, 4 to 5 feet is ideal. You need a minimum of 3 feet for koi fish for several reasons. All the beneficial bacteria as an aerobic or anaerobic pond bacteria, Nitrobacter, etc, reside in the filter or decomposing debris at the bottom of the pond. They are not floating around the pond. Bacteria and algae containing pathogen of the disease, and as they pass through the UV light, they are eliminated.
Q Do I need a waterfall for my pond?
A Definitely, YES! Most definitely. First, the waterfalls are beautiful to watch. The sound is soothing and relaxing and the water Moving on rocks generates negative ions that are added to the air. As you breathe negatively charged air, it relieves the stress and anxiety. Cascades also add extra oxygen to the pond. The waterfalls are a must!
QI hear ponds Concrete will be leached into the lake. Is this true?
A Yes and no. A poorly constructed concrete pond will, but only to that the algae begin to grow on the sides. Also, if the pond was built in 3500 psi concrete and sealant Thoro-TM, it is impossible for alkaline for laundry. Also, if you use Doug Hoover secret formula mortar, the mortar in the cascade between the rock will not be leached.
Q What is the advantage to build a waterfall with concrete and mortar?
AA major reason is that the rock will be firmly cemented in place, prevent a serious accident from sliding rocks as a waterfall liner. Believe me, some day, some children adventurous ride on it. It is a trial in the decision.

Change the pond water for fish health
I look like a simple thing, but one that some owners of Pond put last on their list of things to do. The water inside of a fish pond should be kept clean and that people plants living in water depends on the cleanliness to survive.
There are a number of ways to do so that the work becomes easier, manageable and is put out less frequently.
You can delete your fish in your pond and put them in a container while draining the water content of your pool completely or partially remove water and clean the pond while your fish are still in it. Partial removal is recommended to introduce new water slowly. Drastic changes in temperature and pH of the water can cause your fish to get sick.
Using a siphon or pump, to take only part of the pool water and remove it in a bucket or on the floor if you're outside. At this point, you can also remove the decaying vegetation, debris and dead leaves are valuable because they extract oxygen from water and eventually rotting and fouling the pond.
If you have time, while the pump and filter are turned off, you can check integrity. Inspect each piece of equipment, pumps, lights, liners, filters, fittings, tubes and cables.
Pumps – Look for damage such as locking, electric shock, or oil leak. Open the pump and inspect the wheel.
Tubes – Inspect for a break, stiffness or to see if they are bent. Constrictions like these can affect the flow of water in the waterfalls, fountains, or filters that affect the ability aerators to work effectively.
Pond Liner – Look for small tears or holes that need patching. If degradation or greater damage is present, replace accordingly.
Electric cords-surface cracks or mixed can cause a dangerous shock that can affect humans and fish.
Filter – Clean it remove visible debris that reduce the effectiveness of filters.
Once everything has been verified, you can start filling your pond. Check the temperature of the pond and see that water does not vary from not too much of that, use a pH kit to measure the acidity of the water. Cleaning the pond should not be a big chore if you take small steps and longevity of your life pond will benefit.
